This is just a little corner of a field in North Lincolnshire, but I was attracted by the rhythmic pattern of the grasses in the ditch which are repeated in the bare tree trunks beyond.

This part of North Lincolnshire was at the heart of the Wesleyan religion. John Wesley’s home was in the nearby Epworth, but he preached all around the area in many buildings. This barn in Scawby was one of those places and part of a village farm. Now, of course, it has been modernised.

The barn where John Wesley preached can be seen at the back of the farmhouse, but what attracted me at the time was the beautiful meadow absolutely full of buttercups.
