This is the village which inspired Peter Mayerl to write “A year in Provence”. I’ve tried to express the heat of the Provencal summer, the vigour of the maturing vines surrounding the village and the beauty of the ancient stone of the farmhouse. The heat seems to intensify the clarity of the light and the warmth of the building.

Apart from the final product, vineyards always have a definite rhythmic pattern whatever the season, which is set off by the softness of the regional architecture and here by the gently winding road.
